Samsung sells more Galaxy S21 than Galaxy S20, S10 or S9

The last decade has been a roller coaster ride for many brands, including Samsung. The one that is still the main mobile manufacturer in the world, with a very relevant presence in markets such as Spain, has had different success with its high-end mobiles.

The Galaxy S have been one of the most iconic Android families from the start, but they haven’t always sold as well.

The Galaxy S21 are a booster for Samsung

Last year, with the launch of the Galaxy S20, sales of high-end phones suffered, at least if we compare them with those of their predecessors, the Galaxy S10 and S9.

In the M. Science graph we see how the 2020 terminal did not meet expectations. Surely part of the blame is the pandemic, which exploded worldwide shortly after the presentation of these mobiles.

However, 2021 is more positive for the company and is that the first reports of compared sales indicate that the S21 has been sold more than the S20.

But not only that. According to Korean media figures, the Galaxy S21s are selling better than the S10s and the S9s. We would have to go back to the Galaxy S8 to see a flagship of the company that would sell better.

In the first month of sales, the S21 reached a figure of 590,000 units, double that of the S20 in the same period, and higher than the S10 and S9. The S8 narrowly edged it, 620,000 units.

The S21 lead the way for Samsung

This change of course is not accidental and is that Samsung has made good decisions with the S21. For starters, it’s lowered the price over last year’s models, even though you’ve removed the chargers from the box.

It has also made it clear that the Ultra will be the flagship and in the S21 and S21 Plus it has decided to cut benefits in some key aspects to be able to contain the cost even more.

We will have to wait until the end of the year to see the total sales figures of the family compared to those of previous models but, if Samsung wants to continue on this path, it knows that it has to do what it has done this year.
