Samsung has removed this feature from their One UI 3 phones without prior notice

The range of the Galaxy S20 launched in Spain last year it comes with a perforation on the screen. As we told you this week, in the phone settings there is an option to hide said perforation when using certain apps. A feature that can be useful to many users, but has suddenly disappeared.

The update to Android 11 with One UI 3, which arrived in December on the Samsung Galaxy S20, has removed all traces of this function. Other phones of the brand that have updated to this version are also affected and the function has disappeared completely.

The Samsung models that have updated to Android 11 with One UI 3 are several, apart from the Galaxy S20, we also have the Galaxy S20 FE, the S10 Lite or the Galaxy Note 20. In the previous version of One UI these devices had the function of hiding the perforation of the screen, located within the Full screen Apps section in its settings.

After upgrading to Android 11 with One UI 3, the function has been removed from all of them

. Also on my Galaxy S20 Plus this option has been completely removed. It is a function that few users on phones used, which would be the reason why the firm has made the decision to eliminate it in this update.

Samsung has not given any explanation about the reason why this function has been removed from these phones with One UI 3. If you used it on your mobile, and you have already updated, you won’t be able to hide the camera piercing when you use some apps on it. If you have a mobile that has not yet received the update, you can continue to use it, until you update to One UI 3.

It is not known if this deletion is temporary and in future versions of One UI we will be able to see it again or not. It seems unlikely, but we will have to wait for more news from the firm.
