Inside of the rugged phone segment, Samsung has its own line where we find, for example, the XCover 4s or the XCover Pro. The latter, which was presented just over a year ago, has just welcomed its successor: the Galaxy XCover 5.
Besides the resistance that characterizes the XCover family, this new off-road phone comes with a 5.3-inch HD + screen, a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 3,000 mAh removable battery, among other features. Let’s see it in detail.

A basic hardware, but all-rounder
Intended for work environments where durability is as important as ease of use, the Galaxy XCover 5 features improved touch sensitivity. to be used with gloves (Glove Touch) and the walkie talkie feature in Microsoft Teams. It also boasts IP68 resistance to water and dust, and improved shock absorption that allows it to withstand drops of up to 1.5 meters.
It is equipped with a 5.3-inch HD + screen, the Exynos 850 processor, 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage, as well as a replaceable 3,000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging via the USB and POGO pins. In addition, it has a 16 MP f / 1.8 rear camera with Live Focus and a 5 MP f / 2.2 front camera.
Includes an LED flashlight on the back of the phone, an NFC chip and Samsung Knox, the company’s security platform that offers end-to-end protection with security built into every layer of the device, from the chip to the applications.
XCover 5 versions and price
Samsung has confirmed that the new Galaxy XCover 5 will be available as of March 2021 in “select markets” in Asia, Europe and Latin America, but has not specified either the countries in which it will go on sale or the price at which it will go on sale. What we do know is that it will be sold in black and in a single variant with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of capacity.
