Redmi prepares a high-end gaming mobile for this year

Redmi has stood out since its arrival in Spain as a low-cost brand within the Xiaomi ecosystem, but beyond its dominance among affordable models, little by little it continues to climb in quality with models that little by little begin to appear among the high end.

The Redmi K series is the most ambitious of the company (in Spain we have known some of these renowned models such as Xiaomi Mi 9T and Mi 10T) and the new generation seems to be willing to focus on offering a gaming experience.

Redmi gears up for esports-focused flagship

A few hours ago we knew about the new MediaTek processor, the Dimensity 1200. Although this chip is at the technology level a notch below leaders such as the Snapdragon 888 and Samsung Exynos 2100, it is at the height of being considered a high-end processor , and this is recognized by one of the top managers of Xiaomi and Redmi.

Lu Weibing, through his Weibo profile, has praised the new MediaTek processor,

also announcing that Redmi will debut this spectacular chip on one of its mobiles. In his publication he also talks about the Redmi K40, being expected that one of the multiple versions of this new generation incorporates this promising processor, but perhaps one of the most interesting data that the manager leaves is the following message:

“In 2021, Redmi is going to focus on esports and launch the first gaming flagship, bringing high-end esports experience to fans at a price that cannot be denied.”

Within the Xiaomi ecosystem, if we wanted a mobile specialized in gaming, we should turn to Black Shark, a company that is considered independent from Xiaomi but whose independence is hard to believe when in the last generation they have changed the software from pure Android to MIUI. We will see if Redmi takes a similar path or follows a path similar to OnePlus phones.
