A week ago OPPO updated its Color OS customization layer to version 11, based on Android 11 and today, coinciding with the launch of the Realme Narzo 20 it’s the turn of its spinoff. Thus, with Realme UI 2.0 comes the first big update of the exclusive personalization layer of the house mobiles.
Realme UI is a spin-off of Color OS, so it should come as no surprise that many of the new features in Realme UI 2.0 are similar to those in Color OS 11. Among the changes we have more customization options, privacy and what’s new in Android 11. We will see what changes in Realme UI 2.0 and mobiles to be updated.
What’s New in Realme UI 2.0
Realme UI 2.0 is not as radical a change as the change from Color OS to Realme UI, but rather an extension of the changes present in the previous version. For example, interface customization goes one step further with even more options on how you want the icons and their shapes to look and the integration of third-party icon packs.
Also, in Realme UI 2.0 you can choose a main color for the interface (with ten colors to choose from and several different color schemes), to change the theme of the mobile easily and that adapts more to your taste and favorite colors.
Another part that receives changes is AOD mode o Always On Display. In Realme UI 2.0 you have more tools to customize the appearance of this screen, with more styles, patterns and widgets ready to use.
Other changes related to the appearance are the inclusion of more wallpapers, the possibility of adjusting the thickness of the font or being able to choose between different dark modes: totally black or with shades of gray.
In the section of the Privacy, Realme UI 2.0 includes intelligent protection to prevent applications from obtaining personal information from you such as bank details or call log, it includes the ability to hide applications and a private space.
These changes are in addition to Android 11 privacy changes, a centralized permission manager of applications and a false switchboard detector (used to send spam or spy on users).
Other exclusive features are Realme Share, to share files, Dual Mode Music Share, to share music by connecting two headphones to a phone, the pre-installed Google Digital Wellbeing and improvements in multitasking, with a floating window system with which you can put any app in floating window mode in miniature.
From the point of view of performance, Realme ensures that Realme UI 2.0 uses 45% less system resources, increases the system speed by 32% and increases the stability of frames per second by 17%, according to its own studies.
Realme phones that will be updated
The Realme Narzo 20 will be the first terminals with Realme UI 2.0 under the arm, although not the only ones. Final upgrade plans will depend on each region and may change in the future, although for now the information available place update in a good part of the range, with about seven models receiving the beta throughout September and the rest during the first and second quarters of 2021:
