The segment of wearables, and more specifically, that of smart watches, is growing by leaps and bounds. To the many Amazfit proposals, such as the Beep S, have recently joined the new Apple watch, he Xiaomi Mi Watch Y two more Garmin models. That, to name a few examples.
The latest novelty comes from the hand of Polar, which has just renewed one of its most popular watches. The second generation Polar Vantage, called Vantage V2, takes some characteristics of another model of the brand, the Yelled X, and add some cool features. Among them, the performance tests and the Polar Precision Prime sensor stand out.

As for the screen, it has a TFT touch panel with 240 x 240 pixel resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass and an anti-fingerprint treatment. At the bottom, we have the Polar Precision Prime sensor, which has ten LEDs and four electrodes for greater precision in pulse readings. It also has a built-in accelerometer and GPS, but no SpO2 sensor.
But if there is a novelty that stands out in the Polar Vantage V2, it is its new performance tests:
Running test: used to improve running performance and to know data such as VO2 maximum, maximum HR, aerobic speed and aerobic power. You can also customize your heart rate, speed and power zones.
Cycling test: allows to obtain the functional power threshold (FTP) in different durations, from a few minutes to an hour. In addition, it shows the evolution of VO2 maximum, maximum heart rate and the w / kg ratio (measured related to slopes).
Leg recovery test: it is a test related to recovery that allows us to know if our muscles have recovered and if we are ready or not for another exercise session.
To all this, we must add the functions that we have seen in other Polar watches: Nightly Recharge (to know if we recover when sleeping), Sleep Plus Stages (measure the quality of sleep), FitSpark (personalized workouts), FuelWise (reminders to eat and drink during a workout), HillSplitter (hike and hike data), Komoot integration and two-day weather forecast.
Regarding its battery, Polar claims that it provides up to 40 hours of continuous training, although the different battery saving options can increase its autonomy up to 100 hours. And of course, it does not lack the functions of a smartwatch, such as receiving notifications and remote control of music playback.
The new Polar Vantage V2 can now be reserved at the Polar website yet price of 499.90 euros with delivery from October 14. It is available in two sizes (S and M / L) and in three different color combinations: black, green / black and lime gray / silver.
