Orange’s 5G will reach 93 cities in Spain before the end of the year

In September Orange began with the deployment of its 5G network in Spain, with its launch in the largest cities of the country. Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville and Malaga became the first to have access, although the operator had already confirmed that before the end of this year it would be available in more cities.

There are currently a total of 45 cities in Spain those who can enjoy the 5G NSA of Orange. Cities such as Pamplona, Logroño or Zaragoza have been added to those already mentioned above in these months. In addition, a few more will be added before the end of this month.

Orange’s 5G in 93 cities

As announced by Orange itself, by the end of 2020, will be a total of 93 cities in Spain those that will have access to their 5G network. Thanks to this, the operator’s customers will be able to navigate at a higher speed than they had with 4G. This way they can make the most of their data rates with the operator.

It is also mentioned that the process has already started, so that those cities will have access to this new standard. Although they have said the number of cities and that it is being deployed between them, it is not known which are the cities

in which the operator is currently deploying 5G. In the coverage map on its website those cities are not appreciated either.

5G thus continues its advance in Spain, having a presence in the main cities. Orange followed in Movistar’s footsteps in September with the deployment of its network in several cities. The operator has 16 mobile clients in Spain, so a good percentage of them will be able to use the new standard before the end of the year.

The deployment is taking place in phases, because in the first place the operator has used two different technologies to supply 5G NSA to its customers in 2020. The NSA itself (not stand alone) has been used in those nodes with 3.5 GHz antennas and also 5G NSA DSS (dynamic spectrum sharing), which allows 4G LTE and 5G to coexist on the same band. During the first quarter of 2021, the auction of 700 MHz of the radioelectric spectrum will be held, which marks the start of 5G SA, which will improve indoor coverage.

The entry The 5G of Orange will arrive in 93 cities in Spain before the end of the year appears first in El Androide Libre.
