For many years we have seen how the shape of smartphones has been consolidated towards an idea that inaugurated the iPhone. A glass element, with a screen as the absolute protagonist and without elements that overshadow it, such as a hinge or a physical keyboard.
Some firms have tried to go further, such as Samsung with the Galaxy Note, but it was not until 2019 that firms such as Samsung itself have decided that the future of phones would be foldable.
OPPO presents a too perfect mobile
In addition to Samsung, other firms have launched prototypes, such as OPPO and its OPPO X 2021, a rolling phone that we are looking forward to being announced.
Now it is the turn of a new mobile that arrives in the design phase, not as a prototype, and that is what we liked the least. The idea of OPPO is to offer a terminal that, when folded, does not take up much more than a credit card.
For this I would use a hinge system that would make it possible to use it with a 1.5-inch screen, with a 3.15-inch or a 7-inch screen. Of course, at all times we talk about diagonals on screens with an exceptionally long ratio, as seen in the photographs.
On the other hand, the rear would include four cameras, although there are no protrusions and complex hinge systems, something that we already know is very relevant in folding mobiles.
Also, the edges of the screen, the built-in stylus, the mechanical system that seems to fuel the movement of the screen… it’s all too vague to be taken as anything more than a pretty idea.
There is also doubt as to whether it could technically be brought into real life, what autonomy it would have since the thickness it offers does not seem to leave much space for the battery.
The entry OPPO’s new concept mobile is too perfect to be possible appears first in The Free Android.
