This is a year in which we have finally seen that terminals start to move away from the idea that the only form factor is the one established by the iPhone in 2007.
We have seen how some brands like Samsung or Motorola have opted for flexible screens and other firms such as LG innovate in another way. Now it is the turn of OPPO, which has decided to present its new conceptual mobile, a mobile with an extendable screen.
At INNO Day 2020, an event focused on how OPPO wants to innovate in the mobile technology segment, the OPPO X 2021.
This terminal is announced as the future for the brand, with a technology that allows changing the size of the screen, going from a diagonal of 6.7 inches to a 7.1-inch, although with a more square ratio.
When closed, the shape of this model is not very different from that of other terminals, even presenting a curvature on the screen like the OPPO Find X2 Pro has.
When it is opened it becomes almost a tablet, keeping the shape and without folding elements although the screen obviously moves, unrolling.
What’s more, since it can be opened gradually, we can adapt the screen size to the content, so as not to have black bars that waste the screen.
In the back we see a camera module with three sensors and a metallic finish. However, the company has made it clear that, for now, this is a conceptual model and It has not given dates of sale or price or final specifications.
It is clear that in 2021 we will see more models similar to this OPPO X 2021, and hopefully instead of prototypes they will be presented in the form of commercial devices.
The entry OPPO presents the first mobile with an extendable screen: OPPO X 2021 appears first in The Free Android.
