OnePlus has been expanding its mobile catalog with the presentation of the Nord N10 and Nord N100, but also with new headphones, which have already arrived in Spain. We have been able to get our hands on the OnePlus Buds Z and we tell you what our feelings are.
Unlike other proposals such as the realme Buds Air, these headphones have pads that make the sensation of isolation greater. Some don’t like this, but considering they don’t have active noise cancellation, a greater sense of silence is welcome.
Despite that, they do not become uncomfortable or completely seal the hatred. Obviously, this depends on the biological form of each one so, as they improve the support for some, they may not be comfortable for others.
Even the box, although it is made of a plastic that is too glossy, feels good to the touch, with a lid that closes satisfactorily thanks to a magnet.
By using the new Fast Pair system, pairing with the mobile is quick and easy, and we have functions such as locating headphones if we lose them, something that Google announced long ago.
I was very surprised by the clarity of sound that we have obtained with these headphones, on the same level as others that cost almost twice as much. Even the bass have been pretty good given the small size of the headphones.
In addition, the latency they have is low enough to be able to play or listen to a video without there being a synchronization between what it sounds and what we hear.
It is also feasible to use it in calls, although the sound quality will depend a lot on the environment in which we are.
The OnePlus Buds Z have a good autonomy, about 20 hours, but above all they stand out in fast charging and that is that with 10 minutes of charging the case we have for about 3 hours of playback, perfect for those moments when we forget to charge headphones before going out.
The only downside that we put, taking into account the price they have, is that we can only configure the double touch as a gesture system. No one-click for something or triple-click. Taking into account that it is a question of software, I hope they update the app for it.
We can also control them from other devices with the app Hey Melody, which would also allow firmware upgrade. Despite being an app in development, we have been able to change the gestures and update the headphones.
These headphones have been designed to offer a lower price than the original OnePlus Buds. The 59 euros They cost us seem to be a reasonable cost, although wireless charging is missing.
