It’s been a couple of months since the company’s CEO, Ni Fei, shared on Weibo some brushstrokes on the following Nubian smartphone for the gamer public, the Red Magic 6. Now, finally, its two variants have been officially presented in China: Red Magic 6 and Red Magic 6 Pro, both with the surname “Tencent Edition”.
As expected, it comes with the Snapdragon 888 on board and a battery that supports 120W fast charging in the case of the Pro model. In addition, the successors of the Red Magic 5S They feature an AMOLED screen with an impressive 165 Hz refresh rate.

Two twins with different memory and battery
Created in collaboration with Tencent Games (hence the tagline “Tencent Edition”), the new Red Magic 6 series boasts eye-catching design and super-high-end specs. The family consists of two devices, Red Magic 6 and Red Magic 6 Pro, which share most of the features, except for the battery and memory.
Both models include a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with FullHD + resolution, a refresh rate reaching 165 Hz and a touch sample rate of up to 500 Hz. They also have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, combined with up to 16 GB of RAM in the Pro model and 12 GB in the standard. Accompanying it is up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage and Android 11-based RedMagic OS 4.0 operating system.
In the photographic section, they have an 8 MP front camera and a triple rear camera formed by a 64 MP main sensor, an 8 MP wide angle and a 2 MP macro lens. As well include 5G NR support, an in-display fingerprint reader, dual speakers tuned by DTS X Ultra, dual GPS, Bluetooth 5.1, WiFi 6 with 2 × 2 MIMO antenna, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Red Magic 6 is powered by a 5,050 mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging, while the Red Magic 6 Pro uses a 4,500 mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging. Both phones are compatible with the standards. USB Power Delivery 3.0, Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0. Nubia ensures that, with the 120 W charger, the Red Magic 6 Pro can go from 0 to 50% energy in 5 minutes and get a full charge in 17 minutes.
Finally, and since they are phones designed to play, they have a sophisticated multi-layer cooling system consisting of copper, graphene, thermal gel, and a built-in active cooling fan. Additionally, the phone supports USB streaming and wireless streaming with compatible monitors and televisions, as well as triggers for four-finger gaming.
Red Magic 6 Series Versions and Pricing
The new Red Magic 6 family will go on sale in China from March 11, while its global launch will be “soon”, according to the company. Both the Red Magic 6 and the Red Magic 6 Pro will be marketed in different configurations depending on their RAM memory and capacity, although the Pro model will also be available in a transparent edition:
