Nokia to join HarmonyOS with Nokia X60, according to IT Home

Nokia would be the next company beyond Huawei in install HarmonyOS on their mobiles. Specifically, the Nokia X60 would be the first to have this operating system alternative to Android, as a report collects Chinese media IT Home.

For the moment, Nokia would only be contemplating the possibility, so that everything could change before the launch of the terminal. If confirmed, It could be the first non-Huawei mobile to install HarmonyOS.

Possible HarmonyOS for Nokia

From the beginning, Huawei has offered its commitment to keep HarmonyOS open to other manufacturers. Among the brands that showed an initial interest was for example ZTE, although later confirmed have no plans to install HarmonyOS on their mobiles, at least during 2021. Nokia could be the first.

According to IT Home, Nokia would be testing HarmonyOS, with the idea of installing it on Nokia X60 series, set to become the brand’s next flagship, at least in China. Some leaked specifications of the terminal open us to a screen with curved axes, 6,000 mAh battery and 200 megapixel cameras. And maybe HarmonyOS.

Nokia initially debuted its Nokia X series in China, initially being equivalent to international models. However, this year it relaunched it globally with the Nokia X10 and X20, two cheap 5G mobiles. It remains to be seen if the Nokia X60 will be a Chinese model or if it will be launched globally. This is important because HarmonyOS does not include Google services, which a priori would not be advantageous for Nokia in the face of a global launch.

At the moment there is nothing confirmed and the Nokia X60 does not have a filing date yet

, so for the moment we will have to wait. With or without HarmonyOS, rumors that it has a 200 megapixel camera make it a terminal to keep track of closely.
