New start menu, new icons, new browser: the new design of Windows 10 that Microsoft just show

As part of the celebration of the 1,000 million users of Windows 10, Panos Panay, the product manager at Microsoft for Windows and devices, showed a video in your account of Instagram where we can appreciate multiple changes in the design of the system.

Most of these are changes that we had already discussed, such as the new File explorer in the same style as that in Windows 10X, a new start menu that does not leave all of the Live Tiles, and the new icons, including new Windows logo. But there are also more details that point to a Windows 10 more stylish than ever.

The video, although it doesn’t have the best quality in the world, let us take a look at what is likely to soon we will be seeing when we update Windows 10depending on the date on which you finish getting the spring update.

Customization and consistency

The new start menu is not so different from the current, but this makes more emphasis on the new icons and keep them consistent. Nothing of tiles of different colorssome with design Modern, others with no design whatsoever, and with a icon old.

They have also shown a new file Browser with Fluent Design that is probably one of the things we definitely see in Windows 10, and that at a glance it looks good in design, but extremely different to what the average user you’re used to and perhaps with some loss of functionality obvious.

Another interesting thing that have shown are new contextual menusthat we do not know if they will replace the current contextual menus (which are already pretty varied with all legacy from older versions) or if it will be another layer.

We can see another style of interface more in app drawing, buttons, rounded off with arrows that reminds a bit of the days of Zune and the moment in the spotlight Metro. And we also see redesigns of these apps in the system as the Calendar and Photos.

The third party apps are not going to see as well in the start menuin fact, if we look closely we can see four icons at the suite of Adobe programs by using the size of Live Tile smaller to not descuadrar both, given the different style of these icons versus the new Windows 10.

Note that the design team at Microsoft is doing a great effort to modernize and unify the interfacebut we know that not depends on them how it looks like Windows 10 at the end of the day

, and for this despite the nice and consistent everything looks in this video, in practice, Windows 10 has many design styles mixed with each other.
