New Redmi Watch: a cheap and simple smartwatch

In what is possibly one of the last presentations of the year, Redmi has announced in China a new mobile, the Redmi Note 9 5G, a terminal with a new design and better specifications than the Redmi Note 9 it sells in Spain.

But it has not been the only announcement. Along with this smartphone, the brand’s first smartwatch, the Redmi watch.

A basic watch but with many functions

This watch has an aesthetic very similar to the one seen on the realme Watch or the Amazfit Bip U, and it is no coincidence. All three are watch models that focus on offering a screen of acceptable size but with a contained price.

In this case we see how the design is somewhat more premium than in the other two, but without reaching levels such as those seen in the proposals of brands such as Huawei. And it maintains water resistance of up to 5 ATM, that is, 50 meters deep.

It has a 1.4-inch rectangular screen and a physical button on the right side.

We can exchange the straps and also the covers, having more than 120 different ones at its launch.

As for the sensors, we have a heart rate sensor and magnetic charge. We can calculate our sleep, the steps we take, the oxygen saturation in the blood …

The battery promises us about seven days of use in normal mode and three weeks if we use it as a conventional watch, not a smart one.

Finally, we cannot forget the presence of NFC, although we should not bet on seeing this integration in this watch if it is ever put on sale outside of China.

Price and availability

This watch has been presented in China and, although we may see it in Spain, at the moment we have no confirmation.

In the Asian country it has been put on sale to 299 yuan, about 40 euros to change. Of course, as a launch promotion it will be sold at 269 yuan, about 35 euros at the exchange.
