New OPPO Reno 5 Pro +: a brilliant design and a stellar camera

The OPPO Reno 5 and Reno 5 Pro have already been made official in the manufacturer’s country of origin, waiting to know more about their launch in Spain. Along with these two models, the brand leaves us with a third, the OPPO Reno 5 Pro +, the most advanced model in this range. It is a phone that has many elements in common with the Pro model.

This new phone shares design with Pro model that we have already mentioned, although at the specifications level we can see a series of important differences, such as the processor used or the cameras that come in this device. Thanks to this it is the most powerful in this range.

New OPPO Reno 5 and Reno 5 Pro: specifications, price and launch

The OPPO Reno 5 and Reno 5 Pro are the new mid-range phones of the Chinese brand, which arrive with 5G connectivity and four cameras.

A very powerful mobile

This OPPO Reno 5 Pro + maintains the design we saw in this range, with a 6.55-inch AMOLED panel with a perforation on the upper left. The screen has a refresh rate of 90 Hz, which we have seen in the rest of the range, which makes it an ideal option when it comes to gaming.

Snapdragon 865 is the processor of choice in this case, making it the most powerful of this Reno 5 range, in addition to providing it with 5G connectivity like the other models in this family. The battery in this case has a capacity of 4,500 mAh, making it the largest of the three. They keep the 65W fast charge of the range in it.

A pioneering camera created between Oppo and Sony

One of the key aspects in the Oppo Reno is photography. The companyhas collaborated with Sony in the creation of the Sony IMX 766 sensor. This sensor has 50 Mpx and stands out for a sensor size of 1 / 1.56 ″. Compared to the Sony IMX 686, one of the best today, whose size was 1 / 1.7 ″, it allows a greater light capture. The size of each pixel is 1 µm, and by pixel binning it is capable of taking 12.5 Mpx captures with pixels of 2 µm in size.

What does all this translate into for those of us who do not understand photography so much?In that it is able to capture more light. By capturing more light, the processor has more information to process and the end result is as simple as the Oppo Reno 5 Pro + takes better pictures.

Regarding the rest of the sensors, we have an ultra wide angle of 16 Mpx, a telephoto of 13 Mpx and 5x magnification and a depth sensor of 2 Mpx that should help in portraits (although in our experience, it is a sensor that contributes little or almost nothing). The front camera is 32 Mpx.

Price and availability

The Oppo Reno 5 Pro + has been presented today in China and will go on sale on December 29 in two memory configurations:

• Oppo Reno 5 Pro + with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage for 3,999 yuan, about 502 euros to change.
• Oppo Reno 5 Pro + with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for 4,499 yuan, about 565 euros to change.

This OPPO Reno 5 Pro + does not yet have a confirmed release date for Spain, but we will update when we have more information regarding availability.
