New OPPO Reno 4Z: features, design and price

OPPO is one of the brands that most clearly has its high-end strategy. It launches a Find X every year, or less, this year’s model being the Find X2 Pro. We can buy this mobile in Spain and in fact we put it to the test again very recently.

Of course, in the mid-range the company is much more prolific, as we see in the Reno 4 family.

Three months ago, in June, OPPO introduced the OPPO Reno 4 and 4 Pro in China. The following month it did the same with the global models, being slightly modified models. Less than ten days ago the OPPO Reno 4 SE was born, a lower cost model, and now the OPPO Reno 4Z.

More refresh rate but with LCD screen

OPPO does not want to be the only brand that leaves 120 Hz for the most expensive mobiles so it has decided to launch a model with that refresh rate. But of course, when you want to contain the price, you have to bet on an LCD panel, not OLED.

The diagonal is 6.57 inches and the resolution is 2400 x 1080 px, having a large perforation since it has to accommodate two cameras.

The main front is 16 Mpx and has a support for blurring, with 2 Mpx. In the back we have the same cameras as the OPPO Reno 4 SE, with a 48 Mpx main, an 8 Mpx wide angle and a 2 Mpx macro. Another blur sensor is added, 2 Mpx.

5G and not so fast charging

With respect to the Reno 4 SE we lose some battery, remaining at 4000 mAh, but above all fast charging since this model only has 18 W, a low speed considering that OPPO is one of the standard bearers of fast charging.

The processor is a Mediatek Dimensity 800 that allows us to have 5G connectivity, and it will have 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory.

The connectivity is completed with NFC, dual-band Wifi, bluetooth 5.0 and even a headphone jack.

Price and availability

This model has been presented in Taiwan and has been put on sale in a single variant, with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory, and two colors, soft or black. The price is 12,990 Taiwanese dollars, about 385 euros to change.
