New Lenovo Tab P11: a tablet with Google’s new kids mode

In August of last year Lenovo introduced an Android tablet called Lenovo Tab P11 Pro. That model represented the culmination of the firm in the tablet sector. Today it has launched a model with a similar name, but without the surname Pro, the Lenovo Tab P11.

An inexpensive tablet with kids mode

The star feature of this tablet is undoubtedly the screen, which reaches 2000 x 1200 px although it does not exceed the resolution of the Pro model. In this case, the diagonal remains at 11 inches.

The body is made of aluminum and inside we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. As a distinctive point, highlight the LTE connectivity.

In addition, it only has a rear camera, 13 Mpx, and one in front of 8 Mpx. The latter allows you to activate the “Smart Privacy” mode and blur the background in video calls, as well as use face unlock.

The battery is 7500 mAh and uses Android 10, with a special Google mode designed for children to use.

This feature, called Kids Space, was introduced in August but we haven’t seen many tablets implement it.

If we look at the accessories presented, they highlight a optical pencil that allows you to draw or write with greater precision and a keyboard which connects with magnetic pins and turns the device into something more like a laptop.

There is also a stand available that makes it a kind of smart screen, perfect for watching movies and using its two speakers.

Price and availability

This model will be much cheaper than the Pro, which exceeded 600 euros. Lenovo has set the reference price of $ 229.99 in the United States although we still do not have a price in euros. It is hoped that in a few weeks we can buy it in Spain.
