New HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G: specifications, price and availability

HTC is a brand that has lost presence in the market these years, with fewer and fewer launches, although last year they left us with a new model in Spain. The manufacturer’s first phone for this 2021 is already real, it’s about the HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G, a model within the mid-range that already comes with 5G connectivity.

The HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G is presented as a balanced model within the mid-range, with specifications that meet expectations within this market segment. Although it has a common problem with the brand again: its price is too high.

A mid-range with 5G

The HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G arrives with a more current design than other phones of the brand, with a large 6.7 inch size panel, with a perforation in the upper central part of it. In that perforation we find its 16 Mpx front camera, which will comply when taking selfies. The fingerprint sensor is located on the side this time.

The phone comes with 5G connectivity as standard, thanks when using Snapdragon 690 like its processor, a Qualcomm chip that brings 5G to the cheapest mid-range. Along with the processor there is a unique combination of RAM and storage (8/128 GB) and it has a large 5,000 mAh capacity battery, with 18W fast charging.

On the back of this new HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G four cameras are waiting for us: 48 Mpx main sensor, 8 Mpx ultra wide angle, 2 Mpx macro sensor and 2 Mpx depth sensor. A combination that we have seen a lot in the market this past year and that promises to remain popular in the mid-range.

One of the disappointments in this model is that it comes with Android 10 as standard, when the normal thing would be since it uses Android 11. It is not known when it will have access to this update, if it arrives.

Price and availability

The HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G can be purchased already in Taiwan, available in a single version of RAM and storage. It is available in two colors: gray and lilac. The price of this phone is 11,990 Taiwanese dollars, that the change is about 350 euros, a somewhat high price considering its specifications.

No information is available on its international launch at the moment, although HTC is expected to announce its availability in select markets shortly.
