New Google Pixel 4a 5G: a little surprise in many respects

In the event that took place at 8:00 p.m. in Spain, Google presented new devices, such as the Pixel 5, the new Nest Audio or the first Chromecast with a remote control.

But together with these devices a new Pixel 4a has been made official, similar not to the one announced in August, but to the Pixel 5 itself.

We were all expecting to see a minor revision of the Pixel 4a for this model with 5G. Which has not been our surprise that in some aspects it has been equated with the Pixel 5, which explains why it is presented with it.

It uses the same processor, the Snapdragon 765G, the same internal memory, 128 GB and the same fast charge. It even has the same camera system, 8 Mpx in front and 12.2 and 16 Mpx behind.

But there are differences. To begin with, the RAM is 6 GB instead of 8. The screen goes up to 6.2 inches maintaining the resolution, but with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. In addition, the battery is 3800 mAh and we lose the wireless charge.

There are also differences in the finishes since this model is made of plastic and the Pixel 5 bets on aluminum. And here we don’t have the water resistance that the older brother has either.

Price and availability

This model does not seem to reach Spain according to Google, but it will be sold in other European markets, at a price of 499 euros.
