New Galaxy M12: Samsung’s cheapest with 90 Hz screen and huge battery

The Samsung Galaxy M12 has been officially presented, like the successor to the M11 launched last year in Spain. This new device is within the entry range of the manufacturer. It maintains some aspects that we already know from previous generations such as its large battery, but it surprises with the refresh rate of its panel.

This new Galaxy M12 becomes the first Samsung smartphone in the entry range to have a 90 Hz refresh screen. An important change in this range of brand phones, thus competing with other brands such as OPPO that already incorporated this rate in simple models.

An entry range that surprises

This Galaxy M12 is a surprising device, with some features that we do not normally see in this market segment. Its 6.5-inch LCD screen maintains a familiar design, with its notch in the shape of a drop of water. Though the brand surprises with those 90 Hz refresh rate, making it the first Samsung in this market segment to have such a refresh rate.

On the back of the phone we find four cameras: 48 Mpx main sensor, 5 Mpx ultra wide

angle, a 2 Mpx depth sensor and a 2 Mpx macro. It is a more common combination of cameras in the mid-range, but it will allow users to take good photos. Along with them we find an 8 Mpx front sensor.

The battery is another of the strengths of this Galaxy M12, with its 6,000 mAh capacity. It goes up compared to the previous generation, so it will give users greater autonomy. In addition, we find a 15W fast charge in it. The processor chosen for this model is Exynos 850, manufactured in 8 nm.

The fingerprint sensor is located on one of the sides of the phone, for quick and comfortable unlocking at all times. Android 11 is the standard operating system in it, along with One UI 3.1 as a customization layer.

Price and availability

The Galaxy M12 It will go on sale in India on March 18. The country is always the first market where phones in this range are launched, although it is likely that in a few months this model will also arrive in Spain, as it already happened with its predecessor the M11. It is released in two versions of RAM and storage, the prices of which:

  • The 4/64 GB model is priced at Rs 10,999 (about 125 euros to change).
  • The version with 6/128 GB has a price of 13,499 Indian rupees (about 155 euros to change).

On the occasion of its launch, it can be purchased on Amazon India at a price of 9,999 Indian rupees in its most modest version, about 115 euros to change.
