New Galaxy A72: Samsung’s premium mid-range raises the bar but forgets 5G

The Galaxy A are among the most anticipated mobiles for the mid-range in Spain. These terminals have stood out in recent years for increasingly offering high-end features at a more affordable price. Along with the Galaxy A52 and A52 5G Samsung has presented the new Galaxy A72, a mobile similar in technical characteristics to its younger brother but bigger, with more battery and no version with 5G.

New Galaxy A72: bigger, with better battery and optical zoom

Samsung has made a groundbreaking design change to its A52s. Like its predecessors, the material used is what Samsung callsGlasstic, although for practical purposes we will define it as plastic. This year the finish becomes matte but somewhat heavier than its younger brother, reaching 203 grams.

The most striking part of the design is its new rear camera module, which does not stand out too much and with smooth lines. In these photographic modules we highlight a 64 Mpx main camera and a 12 Mpx ultra-wide-angle sensor. We also have an 8 Mpx telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 5 Mpx macro photography sensor.

Multimedia is one of the highlights of the Galaxy A72. We have a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with a maximum brightness of 800 nits, FullHD + resolution and an integrated optical fingerprint reader. In addition to an outstanding image quality in the mid-range we have a refresh rate of 90 Hz. It is a larger panel than the A52 with the same degree of quality and the same refresh rate as the A52 with 4G.

Perhaps the most important part of these mobiles is in the approach that Samsung has taken to offer a premium experience at an affordable price. As in the A52, we have speakers with stereo sound, IP 67 water resistance and 3 generations of Android updates. For some, the experience may be even better than in the high-end, offering a 3.5 mm jack connection for headphones, memory expansion by microSD card and charger included in the box.

The Samsung Galaxy A72s go on sale from today and will be available in two memory configurations, since unlike the A52s, the 5G version has not been presented. As a gift for the first ones to get one, Samsung will give you some Galaxy Buds +, wireless headphones with great sound and lots of battery.
