New Citizen CZ Smart: a smartwatch with Wear OS and NFC

Citizen is a watch brand known to many in Spain, which is now taking the leap into the field of smart watches. They have officially presented their first smartwatch, that comes under the name Citizen CZ Smart. This new watch from the brand makes use of Wear OS as the operating system, a model with which to boost this operating system.

The Citizen CZ Smart is a watch with a classic design, which seeks to resemble a normal watch. In addition to the use of Wear OS as an operating system, one of the great innovations in this watch is the presence of NFC to be able to make mobile payments with it easily.

A classic design with Wear OS

The Citizen CZ Smart features a classic design, similar to the brand’s own common watches, with good construction. It has bet on un 1.28-inch AMOLED panel in a rounded shape in this case. The watch case is 46mm in diameter, making it a fairly large model, and it has been made of stainless steel, as the brand has announced.

The processor used in this smartwatch is an old acquaintance among Wear OS watches, since Snapdragon Wear 3100 is used. A processor that

will allow a fast operation of this watch, as well as a good use of battery. The brand has not said anything about the autonomy of the watch, although this watch comes with a magnetic charger, that allows charging 80% of the battery in just 40 minutes of time.

As is common with other Wear OS watches, this Citizen CZ Smart comes with Google Assistant compatibility as it comes with a built-in microphone and speaker. It has a suite of functions for tracking activity user, such as heart rate reading, activity log (steps, calories, sleep), as well as recording various types of exercise.

Another novelty in the watch is the presence of NFC, so that it can be used in mobile payments. There are not many watches with Wear OS that have this feature, so it is a positive that Citizen has included in its first smartwatch.

Price and availability

This new Citizen CZ Smart can be booked now in the brand’s online store, although at the moment it will only be launched in the United States. It can be purchased from December 14 officially. It comes with a price of $ 395, about 332 euros to change. We hope to have information about its international launch soon, if it takes place.

Along with the watch, a series of interchangeable straps are launched, in materials such as leather or steel, which can be purchased separately.
