MIUI 12 is updated with a new shutdown menu and volume panel

The global version of MIUI 12 was presented in May, introducing a series of novelties that have been reaching Xiaomi and Redmi mobiles in Spain. In these months, the brand continues to improve this new version of its interface with new functions, such as a new camera app or multitasking on phones.

The manufacturer continues to work on new features for its interface, as seen in the new beta of MIUI 12 based on Android 11. In this beta the phone’s shutdown menu is redesigned, in addition to introducing a new volume panel. The first images of these new functions show us their changes.

MIUI 12’s new shutdown menu looks like realme UI, realme’s customization layer. In this case, we find a widget in the center of the screen, where you can slide to turn off or restart the phone. Depending on what we want to do, we will slide in one direction or another.

This new shutdown menu of Xiaomi also introduces new animations, as you

can see in the video above. By moving the button to the shutdown option, the colors change and the arrows give way to a shutdown icon. If the option to restart the phone is selected, the color turns green and the arrows turn to a circle.

Also the MIUI 12 volume panel gets a facelift. This new panel features a wide slider with a three-dot menu button at the top and the chime and DND alternate below. The volume slider controls the ringer volume by default, but tapping the three-dot menu button opens additional volume controls. This new volume menu is convenient to use.

This new shutdown menu is launched only for phones that use MIUI 12 based on Android 11, so at the moment it is available for few users. The new volume panel does not seem to have these limitations, so in the next few days more users on the interface will have access to it. For now it is not known when it will reach all users of the Xiaomi interface.
