With Windows 11 just around the corner, not a few users dare to install one of the available versions, either through builds released within the Insider Program or with a ISO image… even in unsupported equipment. The problem is the message that some users are encountering.
And that’s what happened to Tom Warren, editor of The Verge, that when trying to install Windows 11 on a computer, you have found a warning that alerts you that it is not compatible because it has a seventh generation Intel Core i7 processor and that if it does you will lose the manufacturer’s warranty.
To verify whether or not we can install Windows 11 on the PC we have several tools. The official PC Health Check, which we already saw yesterday or other alternatives such as WhyNotWin11. These applications analyze our computer to determine if it meets the requirements and we can install Windows 11. And it seems that on unsupported computers it will not be so easy or at least, it can have its consequences.
By at least Warren’s experience. A notice that warns that the company is left out of possible damage to the PC due to the incompatibility of the computer with Windows 11. What amounts to a full-blown disclaimer. This is the translated notice:
“This PC does not meet the minimum system requirements to run Windows 11 – these requirements help ensure a higher quality and more reliable experience. Installing Windows 11 on this PC is not recommended and may lead to compatibility issues. Yes proceed to install Windows 11, your PC will no longer be supported and you will not be entitled to receive updates. Damage to your PC due to lack of compatibility is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. By selecting Accept, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this “.
An eye-catching message. On the one hand stop receiving updates via Windows Update it is a problem, but it is not insurmountable, because it is enough to go lowering the different ISOs that they launch. More cumbersome, yes, but the equipment is still up to date.
The most curious thing is the part where “Damage to your PC due to lack of compatibility is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty”. A very enlightening phrase that can give a lot of play due to the implications it has.

Apparently Microsoft thinks to put all the obstacles that are necessary on the road when installing Windows 11 on an unsupported computer. It will not prevent it directly, but it will try to dissuade the most daring.
