Microsoft wants to improve the usability of our devices without compromising security. They have been working on improving authentication systems for a long time and it is now in 2021, when they announce that all your user accounts can be used no passwords.
The use of passwords may seem, compared to what many think, a great risk for users and companies. That’s what Redmond is saying as they announced a change that was already available to business customers and that now they will start offering to all their users.
From now on and progressively in the coming months, when it comes to accessing Windows, Xbox, Office and other Microsoft services it will be possible to do it without passwords. The company will offer different authentication methods as an alternative.

Any of these four systems offer secure access to services and devices in which we log in with a Microsoft account. Tools such as Office, Outlook, OneDrive, Microsoft Family Safety, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Windows 10 and 11 and more are supported.

To use personal Microsoft account without password you need to use the Microsoft Authenticator app on an iOS or Android phone and log in with our account there. Then you have to visit account.microsoft.com , log in and choose “Security” and then in “Additional security options”, activate the option “Account without password”.
This improvement however, it is not compatible with some older products such as Xbox 360, Office 2010 or earlier, Windows 8.1, and Windows 7.
