Microsoft continues working on the development of its own applications and now it is Skype destined to receive improvements and changes. Something that draws attention when in recent presentations we have seen how Microsoft focused on Teams as an app to make video calls.
That said, the company has announced through the Skype blog the improvements and changes that should come soon to the well-known tool for video calls and messaging. New designs, more themes to customize the look, new functions … the list of changes is very long.
A renewed design
First they refer to a change in the way the grid is organized during video calls. New themes and a renewed design arrive with the possibility of hiding our face in the video call or that it occupies the main screen.
They also improve on live broadcasts, where now the grid changes to avoid minimized view for some users. Everyone will be equally visible, even those who don’t share video. This avoids what happened before if someone shared your screen or activated the Together Mode, which made the video previews in the top bar too small.

In the case of video calls and those that only use an audio signal, they can choose to use a background image to that an empty box with a gray background does not appear instead.
