Microsoft continues with the roadmap set for Edge and continues to add improvements to its brand new browser. As is usual, the Canary version is the one that has the privilege of releasing them and among the latter is the ability to add text to PDF documents.
Microsoft has listened to user suggestions and is adding in the latest version of Edge in the Canary Channel a new feature that will allow you to add texts to PDF documents and all of this. without having to use third-party applications. An improvement that comes to Edge for both Windows and macOS.
No third party apps
The new feature is coming, selectively, with Edge version 94 (Edge Canary version 94.0.995.0 is currently downloadable) and is called “Add Text”. A function that comes to complete the Edge capabilities when working as a document reader.
The “Add Text” function allows you to edit PDF documents in a way that can be especially useful if we have a document in that format with fields that we have to fill in, it can even be used when the document does not support fields.
It is an important improvement, because until now, to edit the document and add text we had to have software that allowed it, Adobe Acrobat Reader case.

To add a text we must open the PDF document in Microsoft Edge Canary (remember that at least we must have version 94) and click on the new option “Add text” that appears next to “Read out loud” and “Draw”. Another method is to right-click anywhere in the document to add a text box and then start typing.
We can choose the color of the text, the format or the size and the changes we make can be deleted, saved or printed without leaving Edge.
For now it is a function that is being selectively implemented, so not all users can see it on their computers. In my case, I just tried and I have it active on a Windows PC while on another, it is not yet available.
