In recent years we have seen how many devices have been updated to connect to our mobiles, those tools that are always with us. We have seen it with agendas, watches, cameras and much more.
Through accessories even our house has also been connected. Now it is the turn of motorcycles, and for that we have to talk about KOMOBI products.
Two products that offer safety and fun to the biker
KOMOBI is a Spanish startup that has dedicated the last two years to developing a device that will connect our motorcycle to our smartphone, so that each rider feels attached to his motorcycle at any time and place.
For this it makes use of a device that we will place on our motorcycle in a very simple way. This is one of its main advantages, how extremely simple the installation is. In addition, if we have any questions regarding the installation or the operation of the device, they have a personalized customer service team constantly available.
Once we have decided the place where the main device will be housed, in a few minutes we can have it attached to the motorcycle and connected to its battery by means of a double cable that reaches one meter in length.
Being contained in size and having a cable that we can cut if we need it, it adapts to any motorcycle on the market.
The two product ranges, the KOMOBI CITY and the KOMOBI PRO, have similar packaging and come with the same hardware, device, key fob, and app. Both the device and the keychain have an autonomy of more than a month. The first recharges with the normal use of the motorcycle, and the second includes a magnetic charger that is plugged into any USB port.
The main difference is that KOMOBI CITY focuses on the safety and protection of the motorcyclist thanks to the premium geolocation of our motorcycle to avoid theft and scares while KOMOBI PRO adds to these security and protection functions, the measurement of the telemetry of the motorcycle, so it is perfect for those most passionate about motorcycling.
To the aforementioned functions it will be necessary to add in the future the news and new functionalities that the company is developing and that arrive through an update of the mobile application, which is the key to interacting with our motorcycle. And yes, all of this is free for former clients or users.
The KOMOBI motorcycle app is simple and has many options
The application, available for Android but also for iOS, has three sections.
In the first tab we have the routes, where we can check the routes we have done each day, as well as the parameters of these, such as speed or inclination in each curve. In addition, in the PRO version you will be able to relive all the routes that you have done at all times.
On the second screen we have the location map of our motorcycle, which shows us at all times where it is. For this, it makes use not only of geolocation through 2G coverage, but also of other positioning technologies that place KOMOBI at the forefront in the Spanish market.
In the third screen we have the history of alerts that the motorcycle has sent us to the mobile. The notifications that come to us depend on the level of sensitivity that we have on, being possible that it will notify us if someone moves the motorcycle slightly, if it moves a little or if it tries to move it. That’s the motion burglar alarm. In addition, if we prefer, we can activate the area anti-theft alarm, which allows the motorcycle to be moved within a radius of about four meters but which activates the warning if it leaves there, perfect for when we have it in a garage.
These alerts are soundproof on the motorcycle, so as not to alert the thief when the theft occurs. As soon as they start to transport the motorcycle, the GPS locator will paint the route in the app to know where they have gone and where they are.
A KOMOBI for every rider
This is a product designed by bikers, and for bikers. And that is noticeable both in its execution and in its functions. The company has presented two different products with very neat and similar packaging.
KOMOBI City is focused on those who want to have a high-precision motorcycle location and are looking for a more economical product. Depending on the connectivity we want and whether or not a keychain is included, their prices range from 127 to 229 euros. It should be noted that the key fob function is key to getting the motorcycle to identify the rider as the owner, record the routes taken and thus avoid false alarms.
KOMOBI Pro is for those who want to make the most of their motorcycle. In addition to the premium location and maximum security aspects, telemetry measurements are also included. The price ranges from 217 to 320 euros.
To buy either of the two products we can go to their website, where we can also contact them to find out which countries they ship to, since it is sold even outside of Spain.
The entry Make your motorcycle smart with the KOMOBI City and KOMOBI Pro appears first in The Free Android.
