When LG published a statement confirming that it was leaving the mobile phone market, it is normal that users of this brand’s smartphones were left wondering if their terminals would be updated to new versions of the Android system.
In Spain LG does not have a large market share but in some Latin American and Asian countries there are more users.
LG phones that will be updated to Android 11
To begin with, LG Germany has published a list of terminals that will be updated to the current version of the system, Android 11. In addition, it has given some estimated dates:
- LG Velvet 5G: April 2021.
- LG G8X: Third quarter 2021.
- LG Velvet 4G: Fourth quarter 2021.
- LG G8S: Fourth quarter 2021.
- LG Wing: Fourth quarter 2021.
- LG K52: Fourth quarter 2021.
- LG K42: Fourth quarter 2021.
From South Korea there are confirmations of other models that will also update to Android 11, although without dates: V50, V50S, Q31, Q51, Q52, Q61, Q70, Q92 and Q9 One.
Phones that will be updated to Android 12 and 13
Along with this information, the Korean subsidiary has published a list of mobile phones that will be updated to Android 12 and 13. It is important to note that this list refers to the models of LG’s home country, which has not been confirmed, for now, that they will go to be updated in the rest of the markets.

Despite this information, there is still enough for Android 12 to be stable (for now it is not even a beta version), and much more so that we know what Android 13 will be like, the version that will be released in a massive way at the end of 2022.
