LG us surprised by announcing a new series at the beginning of the month: the LG Velvetwith a philosophy of design very different to the rest of the terminals of the company and a name short and simple. While your presentation was scheduled for may, LG has unveiled its new mid-range 5G in South Korea.
The design is the star of the LG Velvet, mainly for breaking root with the schemes of the past. We have a terminal with Snapdragon 765, camera triple of 48 MP and a display of 6.8 inches.

LG is dressed in velvet
LG seems to be very satisfied with the final design of the LG Velvet, with a metal frame it brings together the curves of the screen with the back in what they have called an “arc design 3D”. This is a body of slightly oval-shaped and which, according to LG, it helps to have a good feel in the hand.
In front, the screen 6.8 inch takes the lead role, interrupted only by the notch in the form of a droplet that incorporates the front camera of 16-megapixel. As mentioned before, the screen has its edges slightly curved.
Behind are the three chambers in a vertical arrangement and not included in a module like so fashionable is these days. The main sensor is a 48-megapixelwith pixel binding 4-in-1, which accompanies an ultra-wide-angle 8 megapixel and another additional sensor of 5-megapixel camera for the portrait mode.
The power of the LG Velvet is the responsibility of the Snapdragon 765accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Account for both connectivity 5G, both SA as NSA, and with some multimedia functions underneath the arm, such as stereo speakers, optimizations for AI audio, or even a mode for making recordings ASMR.
The LG Velvet is compatible both with the secondary screen of LG Dual Screen) as with the pencil of the house (Stylus Pen), though these must be purchased separately. The terminal has certification IP68.
Versions and pricing of the LG Velvet
For the moment, LG has confirmed the availability of the terminal in South Korea, where it will be sold on the 15th of may. We still don’t have information about its price and global availability, although at least if we know that it will be available in black, white, green and pink with gradient.
