Instagram works in audio rooms to compete with Clubhouse, according to leaks

Instagram also wants to have its own ‘Club House’ integrated in the app. The audio-centric social network is still quite popular and Facebook doesn’t want to miss out on this opportunity, having known for weeks that they already work on a copy to compete against Clubhouse.

As we read on XDA Developers, details have been leaked about the integration of audio rooms end-to-end encrypted in the app’s own chats. At the moment there is no date for the arrival of this function, but according to the leak, Instagram is already testing its integration in the interface of the app.

End-to-end encrypted voice chats to compete against Clubhouse

Clubhouse has been one of the phenomena in this 2021, with overwhelming success. Instagram also wants to join this new trend, integrating end-to-end encrypted audio rooms within your message section. Alessandro Paluzzi, researcher, has shared a screenshot that shows how this function will be integrated into the direct messages section, right next to the button to do Direct.

Twitter is trying with Space and Instagram, according to leaks, will do the same to compete against Clubhouse

Like Twitter is trying it with Twitter Space To rival Clubhouse, Instagram does not want to be left out and will do the same with its audio rooms. In the screenshots shared by Paluzzi there are no details about the operation of this functionality itself, beyond the aforementioned microphone icon for audio rooms. Last month, in the announcement of the Live Rooms, Instagram confirmed that it is “exploring more interactive tools, such as offering moderator controls and audio features that will be available in the coming months.”

It remains to be seen if this is Facebook’s plan to compete against Clubhouse

, or if the audio rooms reach both Instagram and Facebook or, who knows, even applications like WhatsApp.
