Instagram redesigns its interface in Spain to give priority to its store and Reels

Instagram is one of the most popular applications among teenagers, in Spain and in most countries. Rivals like Tik Tok have managed to confront it, but for the moment they have not displaced it.

Instagram launches online store: new section in the application

The extremely popular Instagram has been updated today to include a new section within the explore tab: an online store.

The company, now part of Mark Zuckerberg’s empire, has never had a special problem changing parts of its interface to highlight the elements that suit it best. And that’s just what they’ve done again.

Priority to Reels and the Store

In any application we can see which areas are most important to developers by the relevance they give in the main menu.

In the latest Instagram update, we have seen no less than two new tabs appear in the main menu, the one at the bottom of the home screen.

There we see how next to the profile icon, timeline and Explore, we have two new ones: one for Reels and another for the store.

Instagram launches its own TikTok: Reels arrives on the application

Instagram Reels is now official and is launched in the application. This TikTok-inspired feature lets you create and share 15-second videos in the app.

This shows the importance of both sections for the company. The first is relevant because it is the direct answer to Tik Tok, and Instagram wants to give it more visibility to avoid user leakage. The second is a great way to monetize the product without putting more ads yet (and that few there are).

This new way of organizing the sections was in testing but now it reaches Spain in a massive way. Of course, it is possible that the updates of the servers are carried out in waves so it may take a few hours or a few days to have it in our account.
