If the Amazon Fire Stick wasn't cheap enough, now there will be a Lite version 1

Seven years ago, Google revolutionized the world of affordable connected televisions with the Chromecast, a device that for less than 40 euros in Spain allowed us to send application content and the internet to any television with HDMI, no matter how basic it was. The Chromecast was not as advanced as a Smart TV, and although its minimalist concept in which the mobile becomes your only command we liked, it did not quite convince everyone. The new Amazon Fire TV Lite could change what we know about these devices.

Since then we have seen a wide variety of devices that turn any television into a Smart TV, although the most successful are the ultra-cheap ones, such as the Amazon Fire Stick and the Xiaomi Mi Box S, or the recently presented Xiaomi Mi Stick. Amazon plans to release an even cheaper version of its well-known best-seller.

Amazon Fire TV Lite: Cheaper Best Seller or Just a Name Change?

Roland Quant has unveiled a new Amazon product known as Fire Stick Lite at Winfuture. If the Amazon Fire Stick wasn't cheap enough, now there will be a Lite version 2

This product is very similar to the current Fire TV Stick in that it has the same shape and included accessories, with a plug and charging cable, an HDMI adapter for easy installation, and even a remote with built-in Alexa. The remote, however, does have changes, since it eliminates the volume and mute buttons to add a button shaped like a television.

The interesting question we should ask ourselves is, what is Amazon thinking?

If the Amazon Fire Stick wasn't cheap enough, now there will be a Lite version 4

The Amazon Fire TV Stick has usually stood out for its price of 39.99 euros in Spain, having been on multiple occasions at 20 or 25 euros. It seems difficult to reduce that price more, so you have to wonder if the company is really trying to reduce the cost of its best seller even more or is it simply a change in the brand.

As of today, the Fire TV Stick is discontinued in Spain, so it is to be expected that the Lite model will replace it. However, the most likely thing is that the Fire TV Stick Ultra 4K will be called simply Fire Stick and the model for 1080p will end up being called Lite, because the 4K in 2020 has little special.

Amazon has a hardware event planned with Alexa for tomorrow, September 24, at 7:00 p.m. Spanish time. In this event, it is hoped that we will meet this new device.
