Huawei will manufacture less than half of mobile phones than in 2020

After a disastrous 2020, many companies look to the future with some optimism. Vaccination, control of the pandemic and the desire of citizens to go out and consume and spend make companies foresee a 2021 better than 2020.

However, there are companies for which this will not be the case. Huawei’s situation has not improved with the entry into the US government of the Joe Biden administration, at least for now.

This implies, as we have been able to know, a drastic cut in the manufacture of mobile phones.

Huawei will manufacture 60% less mobile phones

As reported by Nikkei Asia, Huawei would have indicated to its suppliers that this year the orders would be reduced since its forecasts are those of sell between 70 and 80 million cell phones this year, far from the almost 190 million from previous years.

This confirms the intention of the Chinese company not to sell its mobile division and not to leave the sector, beyond having spun off Honor so that it can continue operating in international markets.

It is possible that this drastic cut in sales forecasts are focused on Europe and Asian markets where the presence of the Google Play Store is almost an obligation to be able to sell.

More 4G and less 5G

Due to the import limitations of 5G elements, Huawei would focus in this period more on selling 4G models and not with 5G, which is just the opposite of what most brands are doing.

We will have to wait and see if there are movements that allow Huawei to collaborate again with companies like Google or if, as it seems, we are facing a paradigm shift in the mobile telephony sector similar to the one we saw with the transformation of Nokia and Blackberry ago years.
