After months of rumors about the possible launch of Huawei’s new generation P, the new Huawei P50 and P50 Pro are already a reality. The new flagships of the Chinese firm are presented with a completely renewed new design and wanting to leave behind the well-known problems derived from the non-inclusion of Google services thanks to the premiere of Harmony OS in his gut.
We are going to take a look at all its novelties at the specification level to see which have been the main best of this new generation.

Without a doubt, the change at the design level that the new generation of Huawei P50s has undergone is really striking. The company has decided to incorporate a double camera module in circular format that give a high prominence to its photographic section, in addition to new colors among which we find the pink, gold, black and white, all of them maintaining the same black finish for the camera modules.
One of the differences that we are going to find between both models is going to be the screen. While the P50 maintains a completely flat panel, the Pro model has a curvature on the sides of the screen to adopt a better worked aesthetic.
Something that they do share with each other is the absence of a 3.5mm minijack, as well as the presence of USB-C, a fingerprint reader under the panel and even a resistance to water and dust that reaches the IP68 certification.
If we take a look at its panels, as we have mentioned previously, we will find differences in terms of their curvature, but both are well adjusted to the edges and present a hole-shaped arrangement on the central screen of your camera. In addition, we also find slight differences in size and resolution, being as follows:
Huawei P50: 6.5 inches OLED with 2,770 x 1,224 pixels + resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate (300 Hz touch refresh rate).
Huawei P50 Pro: 6.6-inch OLED screen with 2,770 x 1,228 pixel resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate.
One of the great surprises that we have seen in this presentation has been the decision by Huawei to incorporate Qualcomm processors into the interior of this new generation of the P50, in addition, with the absence of 5G connectivity to which we are so accustomed. Specifically, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 is the one chosen to be housed inside both models, being able to choose a version with the Kirin 9000 for the Pro model.
Fortunately, Huawei has not wanted to put aside other technologies with the Wifi 6 and a capacity for memories that reach the 8 GB of RAM with the possibility of reaching 256 GB of storage for the P50, While in the P50 Pro we can choose versions of up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, both with the option of expanding them by NM cards.
To complete its specifications at the hardware level we find batteries of different capacity for both. If we take a look at the Huawei P50 Pro, we find a 4,360 mAh battery with fast charging of up to 66 W via cable and 50 W wirelessly, while for the P50 we have to settle for a capacity of 4,100 mAh while maintaining the fast charge of up to 66 W, leaving wireless charging on the way.
Another of the main novelties of this generation is the Harmony OS first appearance on a Huawei phone. This makes an appearance under its version 2.0, and with them we will be able to verify the performance that the Chinese firm has managed to implement on its mobile devices.
As we mentioned at the beginning of this post, Huawei has wanted to give a high profile at a photographic level to its P50. These show as a main asset the capacity of its optical zooms, reaching 5x in the standard model and remaining a discreet 3.5x for the Pro model.
But, obviously, the P50 Pro pulls out its chest at the resolution level of its telephoto lens, with which we can get a digital zoom that reaches 100x, for the 50x of the P50. The configuration of both models is presented as follows:
Telephoto with 12 megapixel sensor and f / 3.4 aperture, with OIS. 5x optical and 50x digital zoom
Huawei P50 Pro:
The new Huawei P50 and Huawei P50 Pro have been presented in China and, at least for the moment, It is unknown if they will end up crossing its borders and we will be able to enjoy them in the international market. The official prices are as follows:
