Eight months have passed since Huawei introduced the first model of the Huawei Nova 8 series -the Nova 8 SE– and new variants are still coming. The latest is the Huawei Nova 8i, a mid-range with an interesting design and 66W fast charge.
The design of the Huawei Nova 8i has little to do with other models in its series, following more the line of the Huawei Mate 30, with the characteristic module for the centered circular cameras. Have Snapdragon 662 and a lot of RAM.

Other Huawei Nova 8s pushed the screen to the limit with the use of curved edges. It is a flat screen on the Huawei Nova 8i, although the side edges have also been reduced considerably. According to Huawei’s measurements, the top frame and sides barely exceed the 1.3 mm. The chin of the terminal is more pronounced.
It is an LCD screen with 6.67 inches diagonal and Full HD + resolution. The refresh rate is the usual 60 Hz, although it does increase the touch response to 180 Hz. Again according to Huawei measurements, the screen accounts for 94.7% of the entire front.
This screen includes a double perforation although it has a front camera of a lens and 16 megapixels. Huawei does not explain at any time what is in the other “hole”, although taking into account the small margin at the top, it is possible that it is the proximity and brightness sensor.
Behind, the Huawei Nova 8i has a symmetrical design with the circular module for the camera centered. Are four lenses in total: the main 64-megapixel, an 8-megapixel wide-angle, a 2-megapixel macro sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor for portrait mode.
On board the Huawei Nova 8i is the Snapdragon 662 from last year. It is not the most cutting edge, but it is already known that Huawei does not have many options in this regard given the American veto. It comes with plenty of RAM, 8GB, and 128GB of storage.
With a 4,300 mAh battery capacity, a strong point of the Huawei Nova 8i is that it supports 66W fast charge, a pretty generous amount considering it’s technically a mid-range. The fingerprint reader is located on one of its sides.
Huawei markets this phone in Spain: The Nova 8i can be reserved for sale next November 2. Its price is 349 euros.
