How to stop abusive phone polling

We often wonder why we receive so many sales calls on our landline or mobile phone. Know that you can fix it by applying a few simple rules today.

According to a study carried out by “60 million consumers”, individuals receive an average of fifteen calls per month for commercial prospecting. These are, in turn, the sellers of windows, life insurance, funeral packages or even mobile phone packages that constantly call you to offer you services that you have not requested.

We also wondered how these companies got our phone number. We explain how it works and how to end it abusive phone request.

Beware of business files

Inadvertently, most of the time, we provide our details to direct sellers ourselves. For example, when we answer trivial surveys on the web or when we fill out competition forms. Often in these documents, there is a small box to check if you do not want to receive offers from a particular provider and we often forget to check it.

It must be said that this box is barely visible, although, on a regular basis, it is present when you make an online purchase or when you sign a contract. Pay attention to this in the future and you should already significantly reduce the number of calls.

Request to be removed from your files

Hanging up or getting angry is of no use

if you are trying to get rid of direct sellers. In fact, they are not the ones who choose to call you, but most of the time it is a computer that dials your number repeatedly until the call is taken into account. So take the trouble with patience and, for each next unwanted call, firmly mention to your interlocutor that you want to appear on the list of people with whom you no longer contact.

Don’t leave them the choice, a simple “Please add me to your list of contacts that you no longer have” will be perfectly convincing. With the recorded call, your request should be successful immediately.

Screen calls

Did you know that most phone operators offer a number filtering option? In this case, you can ask your customer service to filter out the unwanted numbers. If the scrutiny persists, file a complaint directly with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés) indicating the name of the company that is pursuing you.

Remove your number from the phone book

In fact, whatever your telephone operator, you can ask it to stop appearing in the telephone directory at any time. The effect on telephone prospecting is quite drastic, you will receive fewer and fewer calls of this type over the months.
