How to share the key Wifi with Android

When someone comes to our homes or workplaces, it’s very common for us to ask for the key of WiFi network. The idea that someone can go to look at it to the rear (or bottom, depending on the carrier and the manufacturer) of your routerit in their phone and that your device connects to our network is always there, but it is very cumbersome; a lot of steps that we can save perfectly. We will give you the methods that least a headache you are going to generate to share your WiFi password with Android.

Share your key Wifi with WhatsApp

If you have the credentials saved in your terminal, it’s as easy as sending these data to who you ask, through apps such as WhatsApp or Telegram; this is the most obvious. To do this go to where you have your credentials and cópialas. Then go to the messaging app where you have to that person, tap on a conversation and agree to it. Finally, make a long press on the text field until you see the command “paste”:

Sending credentials for WhatsApp

If you click on him, in the conversation you pasted the credentials to access your wireless network. Tap the send button and ready, it will be enough.

Share your Wifi password with a QR code

Android 10 lets you share credentials to access your WiFi network with a QR code, which the guest will have to scan with your terminal. In the first place to go to Settings > Networks and Internet > WiFi:

Settings of WiFI on Android 10

There, tap on your network to access your details. In the screen you see, click on Share:

Options to share the WiFi network in Android 10

With this option it will automatically generate a QR code with the data of your network:

It is worth commenting that some ROMs from other manufacturers already have this feature series from Android-9. If you have, for example, a terminal of Xiaomi, go to the path Settings > WiFi. You will see the following screen:

If you tap the network to which you are connected, you will see a QR code like this below:

If a user wants to connect to your network and you have a QR code reader on your terminal, it will be as easy as using it to scan yours and automatically connect to your network. We recommend QR Scanner, which within its sector is fairly complete and works well.

Finally, if you neither have a phone nor is it updated to Android 10, or gives you the possibility to generate a QR code with their choices of series, you can use a QR Scanner to create a code with which to share your network.

To generate a QR code, open the application and tap the tab Generator:

Main view of QR Scanner

When you do, you will see a menu screen with various options. Moves the menu to the left to reveal the QR code generator for WiFi networks and click on it:

When you press, enter the credentials of your network, and then tap Create:
