How to see how much time you spend on YouTube for Android daily

YouTube is the most used application in Spain to watch videos on Android. The application has introduced many new features over time, such as the ability to adjust videos to full screen. Many users spend a great deal of time on a daily basis watching videos in the app on their phones.

If you want to know the time you spend every day on YouTube for Android watching videos, you have the possibility to check it. The application has a function that shows you the viewing time, with which you can have control over the use you make of it on your mobile.

See the time you spend on YouTube

Many applications on Android allow you to see how much time you spend on it every day, like Instagram for example. It’s a good way to know if you are overusing it. In Google’s own video app there are an integrated function that will tell us the daily time that we spend in it. We can see it by following these steps:

  1. Open YouTube on your phone.
  2. Tap on your profile picture.
  3. Go to the section Your viewing time.
  4. Check the time you spend daily in the application.

In this section you will be able see the time you spend daily in the application, thanks to the integrated graph, which allows to see this data in a very visual way. In addition, YouTube indicates the usage trend in the upper part, that is, if this week you are spending more time in the app compared to last week or precisely less. Along with this data, the time you have spent in the last seven days in the application is also shown. It’s a good way to see if this is too long or not to take action.

How to create reminders

A couple of years ago, the application introduced the option of setting time limits by being able to create reminders to reduce the time of use of it on Android. One of the reminders in the app is to remind me to take a break, in which the app will make you stop video playback after a certain time. It’s a good way to avoid spending too much time watching videos. These are the steps to activate it:

  1. Open YouTube on your phone.
  2. Tap on your profile picture.
  3. Go to the section Your viewing time.
  4. It descends towards the end.
  5. Activate the “Remind me to take a break” option.
  6. Select how long it will take for the reminder to show you.
  7. Click done.

By having a reminder, when the time you have set passes (one hour for example), YouTube will issue an on-screen notice, saying it’s time to take a break. It is a good way to reduce the use of the application on Android, so if you have seen that you spend a lot of time on it every day, you can activate this option.

The entry How to see how much time you spend on YouTube for Android daily appears first in The Free Android.
