The pandemic caused by the coronavirus has involved many changes, some dramatic, and other important but not nearly as relevant as those of the disease itself. In the section technology today we have news because Google is alerting users of Google Photos in an announcement in their support forums that it has ceased to perform the backups of the images received by the messaging application automatically.

This way, if you have configured the Google application Photos to save the photos and videos that we send, for example, by WhatsApp, now you have to make a small and simple modification.
How to reactivate the backup of the photos of WhatsApp
A few months ago we told you how you can activate the backup of the photos and Videos that you sent by WhatsApp in Google pictures if it is not what you had made when the program I suggested the first time. Now we are going to have the same thing, but with the new interface that is coming. What you need to do is:
- Open the application Google Photos.
- Go to the section of Library (the third icon on the bottom bar).
- Click on the tab Utilities.
- Select the option Copies of folders of the device (within the Import section of Photos).
- Select WhatsApp Images.
- Click on the top option that puts Create backup and synchronize.
And do the same with the folder of WhatsApp Videos, if is that we also want to save the videos on Google photos, of course.
What applications are affected
It is important to note that this not only happens with WhatsApp, but with many applications for communication, both social networks and apps messaging. Some of them are:
- Helo
- LINE
- Messages
- Messenger
- Snapchat
- Viber
The steps that I have explained in the section initial can be run to activate the backup copies of these applications by simply choosing the appropriate folder.
The entry How to re-enable the backup of WhatsApp in Google Photos it appears first on The Android Free.
