One of the main differences between the Android version of a phone and the one we use on televisions is the number of applications available. There are more and more but too many times we want to use an app, which we know works, but it is not available.
Chromecast review with Google TV: the best way to revive a TVWe have reviewed the new Chromecast with Google TV, a device that has become the best way to revive an old TV.
This is when we want to install an APK directly, although in the case of Chromecast with Google TV It is not so immediate, although it is easy. We have to perform two actions.
Activate developer permissions
Before choosing which apps we want to use to install APKs, we must activate the development permissions. For this we go to Settings, section that is just below our avatar in the upper right corner of the interface.
There we go to the option of System.
Within that section we go to the second option, Information.
There we have to go to the option of Android TV OS build and press several times until we get the message that we are developers.
Once this step is finished we go to another section of Settings.
Give access to each application separately
Once that is done, we have to give each application permission to install apps. For this we return to the Settings and we select the option Privacy.
There we go Security and restrictions, where we will click on the Unknown sources option.
That is where we have to mark the application that we want to use to install APKs, in our case, the X-plore file manager.
As you can see, once we know the procedure is something simple, a few minutes, but aimlessly navigating the system options can be much more tedious.
The entry How to install APKs on the Chromecast with Google TV appears first in The Free Android.
