YouTube is the application par excellence in Spain to watch videos. The application recently announced a series of new functions designed to improve video playback on Android and iOS. Among the new functions that we find in the video application is the possibility of adjusting the videos to the full screen.
When adjusting videos on YouTube to full screen, what we are doing is that the classic black stripes that appear when we see a video disappear. The video will be adjusted in this way to the phone screen, occupying the whole of it directly. If you want to use this feature, we will show you how to do it.
How to Play YouTube Videos in the Background on AndroidIf you want to play background videos on your YouTube account on Android, there are several ways you can achieve this on your phone.
Fit YouTube videos to mobile screen
When we play a video on YouTube for Android, the normal thing is that those stripes are displayed around the video. If we want to enlarge it, so that it occupies more of the screen, we have to make the gesture of pinching on the screen, so that then it will become larger. Luckily, in its settings there is an option that allows us to configure this directly for each video in the application. The steps to activate it are:
- Open YouTube on your Android phone.
- Tap on your profile picture.
- Go into Settings.
- Go into General.
- Look for the option called Expand to fit screen.
- Activate this option.
Thanks to these steps, when you open a video in the application, it will come out already adapted to the screen directly. This means that we will not see the usual black stripes around the video, but now it will take full advantage of the screen size of the phone. It is something comfortable, but it can have its negative side.
Since if the video quality is not the best, the one with the stripes around it allowed a better viewing experience. By having these YouTube videos fit the screen size, there may be times when you see something pixelated on the phone. This is something that will depend on each individual video.
