The concept of remote assistance is not new. It has been done between computers for a long time and, for a little less, also between Android terminals. It is a function that can be very useful, especially to be able to correct configuration problems remotely. What is achieved with this function is, in a nutshell, to remotely control an Android terminal from another location, which may be miles apart. In this article we will see What options do we have to perform remote assistance on Android?, and what needs to be done to be able to do it with guarantees in each case.
TeamViewer is one of the oldest applications when it comes to remote assistance. In order to use it, it must be installed on both the controller device and the device on which the remote assistance will be made. There are two versions: TeamViewer is the one to be installed on the device that will perform the remote control. TeamViewer QuickSupport is the one to be installed on the device that will allow remote control.
When we have them installed, on the device that will perform the assistance we will have to enter the user ID of the terminal to which we are going to connect:
When the device that will do the remote control is connected, this message will appear on the screen. We will click on Allow to set the remote control:
Next, the screen of the terminal to which we have connected will appear on the controller device:
From here, we can start moving through the phone that we control as if it were our own. We can move through the menus normally, although it is true that on the screen of the device where we will perform remote assistance we will notice a little bit of lag. For the rest, we can uninstall applications, access settings and perform any type of task from our terminal in which we are controlling:
Since we can move normally through the device screen, as if it were our own, all we have to do at the end of the control session is press the button in the lower right corner of the screen to exit:
Inkwire is a good alternative for those who try to complicate their lives as little as possible. It is only necessary to install an application in the two terminals that are going to be connected and, from there, open it in each one.

On the device that is going to receive remote assistance, press Share, while on the phone in which it is going to connect we will have to press on Access:
On the phone that will receive the connection we will see an access code:
On the phone that will be connected, we will have to enter the access code and press Access when we have:
Finally, the screen of the terminal to which we are assisting will appear on the screen:
Again, we will find that we can access all the places on the phone as if it were our own. Inkwire also has the peculiarity that when touching the screen of the phone that acts as a control device, it is indicated where we are touching:
To exit the session, simply touch the back button on the controller phone. The following message will appear on the screen:
Some users have made it clear that Inkwire does not work equally well on all devices. We have not found any problems in our tests, but your experience may vary.
We all know AirDroid and we know how useful it can be to access your phone files from your PC without the need for cables. What is not so widely known is the application that allows remote control sessions between phones, known as AirMirror.
As in the case of TeamViewer, AirDroid will have to be installed on the device that will receive remote assistance, and AirMirror on which it will perform it. To use AirMirror, in any case, you must have an AirDroid account. You will have to log in with the same account on both devices, the idea is that, for example, you can rescue data from a terminal whose touch screen gives response problems, or that you cannot separate from a power source.
In any case, if you have AirMirror and AirDroid installed where you tap, and you are logged in with the same account on each one, open AirMirror. Automatically, you should see the phone that you can control remotely. By clicking on it, a series of options will appear. The one that interests us in this case is Screen mirroring:
On the screen of the device that we are going to control, a message will appear asking us to grant connection permissions to AirMirror. We will have to click on Start now to establish the connection:
When established, on the device with AirMirror we will see the following:
Using AirMirror is not complicated, if you have paid attention to what we told you before about TeamViewer and Inkwire. In fact, all remote control apps work the same. Again, in the case of AirMirror we will find that we have to press the back button of the terminal that is performing the remote assistance to close the session.
And it would be enough. It should be added that the AirMirror connection is not always the most stable; it can give more headaches than offer solutions.
