If, however, the quality of YouTube remains lower than expected we can always forcing the quality that we want to manually. This is a settings pretty simple that it doesn’t take more than a few seconds.

Before you see how to change the quality of YouTube, it is important to understand what it means to each one of the possibilities that offers us. YouTube mobile allows you to play from 144p up to 4320p, that is to say, until resolution 8K.

The type of resolution adapts to the screen that we are using, that is to say, if our mobile is HD, we will be able to play content up to 720p, if it is Full HD, up to 1080 and so on.

  • 144p: Minimum resolution, of very poor quality. You can serve in the event that the connection is of poor quality to see the video, even if it is displayed fairly pixelated.

  • 240p and 360p: Qualities defined by YouTube as a standard or low definition. Useful to spend the minimum possible data, and see the video something better than 144p.

  • 480p: Mid-point. Don’t get to be HD, but it allows to visualize the video in a dignified manner. Useful when the connection is fairly slow or limited.

  • 720p and 1080p: Qualities HD and Full HD respectively. The jump of quality is important with respect to the 480p, but the data consumption begins to peak.

  • 1440p: Resolution Quad HD or 2K, the most typical in the high-end mobile Android. Quite a lot more resolution compared with the HD, with a consumption of data, therefore, greater.

  • 2160p and 4320p: Resolutions of 4K and 8K respectively. Maximum resolutions allowed by YouTube.
