All Google Workspace plans include a personalized email address with your company’s domain name. However, on June 14, 2021 Google announced that “All Google Workspace is available to everyone with a Google account“. This does not include the purchase of a domain name, but it becomes possible to activate the Google Workspace interface in Gmail. How to activate Gmail’s new Google Workspace interface

Activating the new Google Workspace interface in Gmail (web) is as easy as pie, provided you know the right steps:

• Go to the cogwheel at the top right, just to the left of your avatar
• Click on Show all settings
• Go to the tab Discussions and videoconferences

• Activate the option Google chat

It is this setting that switches your Gmail account to the Google Workspaces interface. Google Chat will now completely replace Google Hangouts. The new Google Chat concentrates most of the functionality of Google Workspaces. More practical, it offers more clarity but also more options for team collaboration within Google’s suite of office applications in the cloud.
