‘Game of Thrones‘has been one of HBO’s biggest hits. It makes sense, therefore, that the company is working on satellite products that pivot around it. In 2017 HBO confirmed to be working on four spinoffs of which ‘Bloodmon‘or’ The Long Night ‘ sounded loud to, finally, and apparently, be canceled.
Now Variety Y The Hollywood Reporter, which cite undetermined sources, has just announced that HBO is working on a “trio of new ‘Game of Thrones’ prequels”. One of them will be called ‘9 Voyages‘or’ Sea Snake ‘and is in the hands of the co-creator of’ Roma ‘, Bruno Heller. The other two, ‘Flea Bottom‘ Y ‘10,000 Ships‘, they don’t have showrunners yet.

As explained from Variety, ‘9 Voyages’ will focus on Lord Corlys Velaryon, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard during the reign of Aergon I Targaryen. Corlys Velaryon was the head of his own house and a great sailor. His story is told in the book ‘The nine trips‘, trips that he carried out in his ship “Sea Serpent” and after which he managed to create the richest house in the Seven Kingdoms, more than House Lannister and Hightower.
It is, like almost all Martin stories, a story full of action, romances, twists and turns, and wars, so it is quite prone to having its own series. This character appears in the prequel to ‘Game of Thrones’ which is expected in 2022, ‘House of Dragons’, and is played by Steve Toussaint.
The second project, ‘10,000 Ships‘, revolves around the warrior Princess Nymeria, of House Martell and founder of the Kingdom of Dorne. Its history occurs about a thousand years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’. The third, ‘Flea Bottom‘takes place in the Flea Blottom neighborhood of King’s Landing, the streets where Davos Seaworth and Gendry Baratheon grew up.
At the moment it’s just that, leaks, so we will have to wait until HBO is officially pronounced. What we do know is that ‘House of Dragons’, which tells the story of the House of Targaryen 300 years before what happened in ‘Game of Thrones’, has Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal as showrunners and is expected to premiere in 2022 .
