Google will let you upload photos taken with your mobile to Street View

One of the Google services that had the most impact on its launch was Street View. The idea of ​​being able to see almost any street in the world in a couple of clicks was revolutionary at the time, and even today it’s really useful.

This function, which is fully operational in Spain and dozens of other countries, was created from complex cameras installed in a fleet of company vehicles.

Little by little, the ways in which data could be included increased, and among them were two that allowed users of the service to upload their images: use 360º cameras or use the Spherical Photography option of the Google camera app.

The new way of uploading content to this service has been integrated into the Street View application itself, which we can download from the Play Store.

A new option appears in the side menu with the name of Driving Mode. We still do not know how the new way of uploading data will be managed, how Google will control the quality of the images or the review of the same.

This function would have the ability to automatically hide the faces of people exiting and the license plates of cars, the same we see in all the images of the service that Google captures.

This development is expected to help the company map many rural roads that have never had a proper presence in the app.

At the moment this function is being tested and not many users have it active.
