Google will detect sounds and alarms in your home and will notify you of them

Although Google has applications that are massive, such as Gmail or Google Maps, apps that are pre-installed on all Android devices that are sold in Spain, Europe and almost all over the world, there are others that go more unnoticed.

One of them is Instant Transcription, designed for people who have some kind of physical impairment in their ears. This app is capable of transcribing a conversation to text to make it easier to understand.

Sounds and alarms warnings come to this app

The latest update of this application has implemented a function that we already had available in the Pixel Buds 2, the detection of alarms. Through this function we can know if there is an important sound around us that we have not noticed. At the moment the list of those available is this:

  • Smoke and fire alarms.
  • Mermaids
  • Screams.
  • Baby sounds.
  • Door bell.
  • Hits.
  • Barking dog.
  • Apparatus beeping.
  • Water running.
  • Landline ringing.

Google will detect sounds and alarms in your home and will notify you of them

If the app detects one of these noises, we will receive a notification to the mobile or smartwatch, in case we use one with Wear OS.

We can also look at the timeline in the application, which shows us when any of the elements in the previous list have sounded, even if we have not noticed.

To use this function we have to go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Sound notifications. In the event that our mobile has not yet been updated, we can install the Instant Transcription application and use the alarm detection from there.

The Google entry will detect sounds and alarms in your home and will warn you of it, it appears first in The Free Android.
