In Spain we approach the end of the first week of quarantine to try to curb the spread of the coronavirus. As we should already know, one of the most important measures to achieve this is to wash your hands thoroughly.
As usual, Google has given us a good morning with a doodle that today serves a tribute to Ignaz Philipp Semmelweisthe first doctor that stressed the importance of proper hand-washing.
Semmelweis was a doctor in the NINETEENTH century, and he was known as “the savior of mothers.”after discovering that this small gesture managed to reduce fever puerperal (inflammatory involvement, localized or widespread, that occurs after birth as a result of the changes and injuries).
Unfortunately, many of the companions of Semmelweis initially saw their ideas with skepticism, and it took several decades until their hygiene recommendations were validated by the scientific community.
For this reason, Google has decided that it will be the own Semmelweis who teach us how to wash correctly hands in this doodle. Below you can see all the procedure that you must follow:
In fact, Google is following the steps of the procedure recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). In addition to each one of the steps to follow, we indicate the optimal duration of each of them.
In addition, Google has also created a poster (in this link we can find the highest quality) we can print or have it saved on our mobile devices to never forget the procedure to follow when washing your hands.
