Google releases the first patch of Android 12 Developer Preview 1: this is all that fixes

Two weeks ago Google launched the first preview of Android 12, a preview of what will be the next update of your operating system which we could try to offer you a first contact of what will await us at the end of the year when this version begins to arrive on our devices.

Being a preview it is not without errors, and as in Android 12 Developer Previews 1 they have been reported quite a few failures Google today released its first patch with Android Developer Preview 1.1.

Android 12 Developer Preview 1.1

Updating Android 12 Developer Preview 1.1 fixes a small number of bugs that have been reported during these last two weeks by the developers.

This new version of the preview is already coming to the Google Pixels that manually updated to Android 12 Developer Preview. The update is coming via OTA with which there is no need to go back to update manually.

In the Android Developer Preview website the company details some of the major bugs they have fixed, which were causing the device to malfunction. The list of errors is as follows:

Android 12 Developer Preview 1.1 (March 2021)

This small update to Android 12 Developer Preview 1 includes the following fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where, on some devices, the device would intermittently disconnect from Wi-Fi even when the Wi-Fi signal was strong.
  • Fixed an issue where on some devices, the device would display a “System UI keeps stopping” message if the user tried to take a screenshot by pressing Power + Volume Down from the lock screen.
  • Fixed an issue with partial activation locks that could cause excessive battery drain.
  • Fixed an issue where a device’s fingerprint reader could stop responding when the device is asleep, requiring the user to unlock their device using another method.
  • Fixed an issue where the Settings app could crash if the user tried to access the app’s notification settings.
  • Fixed an issue where the system UI could freeze after the user updated the device.
  • Fixed an issue where the CellBroadcastReceiver app could not get the android.permission.BROADCAST _CLOSE _SYSTEM _DIALOGS permission, causing emergency alerts to fail.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause some devices to reboot intermittently.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause some devices to reboot after the user unlocked the device with their PIN.

This update does not add any new features, for that we have to wait a couple more weeks for the launch of Android 12 Developer Preview 2, which is planned for the middle of this month.
